In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)

What is IHSS?

When you receive IHSS, you'll get help at no or little cost with bathing, dressing, meal preparation and clean up, bowel and bladder care, light housekeeping, laundry, and shopping.

In addition, you'll be responsible for hiring, supervising, and scheduling your In Home Supportive Services Providers, and for signing their timesheets.

When you become an IHSS provider, you'll gets a salary and job benefits to work for an IHSS Recipient, who can be a family member, a friend, or a referral.

You don’t need prior education or training to become an IHSS Provider.
