Our hearts are profoundly heavy upon hearing the news of the passing of Mayor Edwin M. Lee. Please join us in sending our deepest condolences and thoughts of comfort to his beloved family, friends, and colleagues.
As we reflect on the Mayor’s legacy of service and leadership in San Francisco, we remember him as a steadfast advocate and supporter of the values we hold so dear. Shaped by his background as the child of Chinese immigrants growing up in public housing, and the first in his family to go to college, he fought for equal access to opportunity and prosperity for all residents of his beloved City. The entire Human Services Agency community benefited greatly from his compassion for those most in need.
Mayor Lee’s commitment to equality fueled our mission. We were proud to stand by him. We will continue to honor his legacy through our work. He will truly be missed.
