Aging and Disability Affordable Housing Reports
The Department of Disability and Aging Services (DAS) regularly reports on affordable housing for older adults and people with disabilities as the City’s lead services agency for these populations.
Our recent housing reports include:
- 2023 Aging & Disability Affordable Housing Overview Report provides a snapshot of affordable housing units occupied by older adults and adults with disabilities, as well as units being developed for these populations. An overview report is published every other year except years when the Needs Assessment Report is completed.
- 2022 Aging and Disability Affordable Housing Needs Assessment provides an analysis of older adult and disability housing needs, existing City housing programs and services, and recommendations to address unmet needs and support system coordination. The next Needs Assessment Report will be published in 2027, and every eight years thereafter.
These reports are required by Ordinance 109-24 (passed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in December 2020 under Ordinance 266-20, and amended in June 2024).
DAS prepared these reports with input from the City’s Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing, Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, Mayor’s Office on Disability, and the Planning Department.
