As Deputy Director for Economic Support & Self Sufficiency (ESSS), Anna Pineda brings a wealth of experience to the role in direct client service, change management, and technology implementation.

Anna’s journey with the Agency began 30 years ago, as a CalFresh Eligibility Worker. More recently, she served as the Employment and Eligibility Services Manager for the Solano County Health and Human Services Department, after which she served as a CalWIN Division Manager for Contra Costa County’s Human Services Agency. She returned to SFHSA in 2013.

In her role as CalWORKs Program Manager, Anna led program development, performance management, and process improvements in eligibility, welfare-to-work, and other auxiliary programs. She has also represented San Francisco in state-level and stakeholder convenings, as well as serving as the CalWORKs liaison for San Francisco.

Anna holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Public Administration. Her passion for bringing value and significance into other people’s lives is what led her to work in social services. Anna is excited to be in a county that is committed to delivering essential services that support and protect San Franciscans.
